Library Fellows
We believe that...
All students should be able to visit their school library and learn from a trained educator who is
committed to working in their school library
for a year or more.

This is why we have created a "fellowship" program that would allow volunteers to receive
training to become fellows.
Why?

Public schools often do not have the resources to
renovate their school libraries, or the resources to
ensure that there are certified, full-time librarians
on staff.

We understand, and agree, that this is a
problem.

Our goal is to, first and foremost, support and help
Philadelphia's students who desperately need and
deserve a functional school library and access to a
dedicated and trained educator working in their
school library.

We will be recruiting our first Library Fellows in the Spring of 2012.  Please check back
in January 2012 for details on how to apply!
NOTE:
We accept and encourage applications from college graduates as well as from those
who hold master's degrees in library science. We will hire the most qualified fellows
who are passionate about serving Philadelphia students.
